Meet Our Authors

Michael Rex Blakely is a first-time author and Nashville Native. A U.S. Army veteran and retired United States Postal Service employee, Michael holds a degree in Safety Engineering. He was married to his beloved wife Mary for over 35 years before her passing from cancer. Her life and death became the inspiration for his deeply personal book When The Answer Is No. After her passing, Michael joined and later facilitated Griefshare groups at his church, helping others navigate their loss.

Lisa D. Blakely is a retired mental health social worker with a Bachelor’s in Social Work from MTSU. Over her 30-year career, she supported children with disabilities, at-risk youth, disabled veterans, and individuals struggling with chronic mental illness and domestic violence. She co-facilitates a Griefshare group with her husband and brings clinical insight and compassion to her fiction and non-fiction writing.
